In Birmingham, a suspect in two downtown assaults on women was apprehended

A man who allegedly assaulted two women in separate incidents back in June has been apprehended in Birmingham, Alabama and is currently being transported back to Nashville to face charges.

Koreen Bush, who is 34 years old, has been accused of both aggravated assault and sexual battery.

The incidents in question took place on the night of June 24th, where he reportedly tackled a woman in the 400 block of 24th Avenue South, and then groped another woman outside of a bar in the 1500 block of Demonbreun Street.

Following the events, local law enforcement actively searched for Bush, informing Nashville residents that he was known to stay at the Nashville Rescue Mission on Lafayette Street and may also be in a homeless encampment.

Thanks to the efforts of Central Precinct officers and the Birmingham Police Department, Bush was taken into custody after weeks of coordinated police work.
