Romanian Thieves Steal $3,600 In Sephora Merchandise Using Loose Skirts

MocobizsceneThe Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) is currently seeking to identify two individuals suspected to be involved in a Romanian theft group responsible for stealing a substantial amount of merchandise from a Sephora store located in Malibu.

In a press release by LASD, it was revealed that the suspects utilized a technique known as the “booster skirt” to steal merchandise. This method used a skirt with a loose elastic waistband to drop items into their clothing discreetly. As a result of their actions, they managed to make off with over $3,600 worth of products.

The store’s surveillance cameras recorded the two women’s entrances as they made their way to the cosmetics section to carry out their daring theft. LASD stated that after shoplifting, the two individuals exited the store with the unpaid items and left the area in a black 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan.

According to KTLA, there was an incident just 10 days before when a thief targeted a Sephora store in Calabasas. The thief managed to escape with over $1,000 worth of designer fragrances.
