Located in Imboden, Arkansas, a family who recently relocated from Colorado is in need of assistance. Unfortunately, their storage unit was burglarized not long after they settled in their new state.
John Worley, along with his wife and daughter, has recently relocated from Denver to Cherokee Village.
According to Worley, the new house he purchased was not yet ready to move into. As a result, his family had to search for a temporary storage space to keep their belongings.
According to him, they were in need of a temporary storage space to keep their belongings, and fortunately, his mother had a storage unit available.
The Imboden storage unit served as a temporary home for the family, who frequently traveled between Arkansas and Colorado to move their belongings back and forth. They made several trips to transport their belongings, ensuring everything was safely stored in the unit.
The family came back home on Thursday, October 19th, only to discover that the lock was not latched properly.
Worley expressed her reluctance to open the door as she wished for everything to remain as it was. “I didn’t even want to open the door because I just wanted it all to be there,” she said.
As soon as he turned the handle and pushed the door open, a wave of disappointment washed over him. The sight before him was not what he had hoped for, and his heart sank at the realization.
The Worleys were devastated when they discovered that their storage unit had been broken into by thieves. All of the belongings they had brought with them from Colorado were taken, leaving them with nothing.
As he recounted the incident, he shared his heart-wrenching emotions, saying, “It felt like everything I had worked for was suddenly taken away. I was devastated and left shattered by what had happened.” Despite his hopeful outlook, the heartbreaking turn of events left him feeling broken and disheartened.
According to Worley, the storage unit contained valuable family heirlooms that had been passed down for generations. These treasures held sentimental value and were cherished by the family for many years.
The Worley family has now downsized their possessions to fit into just one suitcase filled with clothes.
The family is seeking assistance from anyone who may have information regarding the theft, and they are also hopeful that surveillance cameras may have captured footage of the perpetrators.
According to Worley, the clothes were replaceable, but there were sentimental items that cannot be replaced. He has a heartfelt plea for the person responsible if they are listening.
As he spoke, his words struck a chord deep within me. “I do want to forgive you,” he said, “but please give it back. It may not mean much to you, but it means everything to us.” The raw emotion in his voice was palpable, and I couldn’t help but feel moved by his plea. It was clear that this was more than just a simple request – it was a desperate cry for help. And in that moment, I knew that I had to do whatever I could to make things right.
According to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, Sheriff Waldrup has urged individuals with any information on this matter to contact the sheriff’s office directly.
