Mocobizscene-A dying wish of an Indianapolis lady who always wanted to travel to space will finally come true. On Monday, January 8, the remains of Jo Ann Holder will be launched; she will be laid to rest amid the stars.
Celestis sold the space burial service to her son Joe Cassady. Along with over 260 other people’s ashes, hers will be launched into space in a tiny spacecraft. The 19th mission will be this one.
2019 saw Holder pass away at the age of 82.
Despite working for many years as an Indianapolis Public Schools school resource officer, Cassady claimed his mother’s real love was learning more about the sun, moon, and stars. She witnessed numerous launches at the Kennedy Space Center.President John F. Kennedy sparked her interest in space travel.
“He was the guy who got the whole space program really going,” stated Cassady. “She just always was fascinated by what’s out there beyond.”The starting price to orbit the earth for all time is $2,500. For Cassady, the chance to realize his mother’s ambition of traveling to space is invaluable.
The launch site for the rocket is Cape Canaveral, Florida. Cassady stated, “It just stays in orbit around the sun.”
