Woman from Newark Admits Guilt in Series of Crimes in Jersey City

Mocobizscene- A woman from Newark has admitted her guilt in federal court for her involvement in a crime spree in Jersey City. The spree included robberies and a shooting that occurred in a single night.

Siobhan Chandler, a 21-year-old resident of Newark, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges in federal court. U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger announced that Chandler admitted to conspiring to commit robbery, conspiring to use and carry a firearm in relation to a crime of violence, as well as charges of attempted robbery, robbery, and using and carrying a firearm in relation to a crime of violence. The plea was made before U.S. District Judge Brian R. Martinotti in Newark federal court.

On the evening of November 14, 2023, Chandler and his alleged co-conspirator, Rodney Williams, visited a gas station. Williams aimed his .380 caliber handgun at a gas station attendant, demanding money. Both Chandler and Williams posed threats to two employees, demanding money while holding a firearm. After the incident, Chandler and Williams quickly fled the scene. The gas station involved in this incident was not disclosed by Sellinger.

Chandler could potentially face a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a hefty fine of $250,000 for each count. The court has set the date for his sentencing on April 17, 2024.
