Baby Diaper Conceals 17 Bullets at New York Airport, Passenger Arrested

Mocobizscene-Security officers discovered 17 bullets at New York’s LaGuardia Airport on Wednesday. The bullets had been concealed inside a disposable baby diaper, according to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

According to the TSA, officers discovered a diaper in a passenger’s carry-on bag during a routine security check at an airport checkpoint. The diaper set off an alarm in the X-ray machine, leading officers to inspect the bag further.

The TSA has identified the passenger as a man from Arkansas who had a ticket for a flight to Chicago’s Midway Airport. However, they have not disclosed his name. Port Authority police have cited him for unlawful possession of the 9mm ammunition.

Passengers at LaGuardia Airport continue to raise concerns regarding prohibited items in their luggage. The most recent incident involves a traveler attempting to conceal bullets within a diaper. This issue is not unique to LaGuardia, as airports throughout the United States have experienced similar incidents.

In a recent incident at LaGuardia Airport, TSA officers made a surprising discovery during a routine bag check. They found a .45-caliber pistol and a fully loaded magazine inside a pair of Nike sneakers that were being transported as checked luggage. While firearms are permitted to be transported in checked bags, they must be securely stored in a locked, hard-sided container. Concealing a gun in shoes is strictly prohibited and a violation of TSA regulations.

In January 2021, security checkpoint officers discovered 13 bullets concealed within a Mentos chewing gum container in a carry-on bag. According to the TSA, the bullets were cunningly mixed in with pieces of gum. The individual responsible for the bag, who faced charges of unlawful possession of ammunition, insisted that it actually belonged to his son, as reported by the agency.
