WASHINGTON — Wednesday marked the indictment of the man accused of stabbing and murdering a Virginia woman in a hotel in Northeast, D.C. in March.
In a news release, the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia announced that George L. Sydnor, 44, of Washington, D.C., had been charged with five offenses.
In addition to other associated offenses, Sydnor was indicted on premeditated first-degree murder, burglary, and kidnapping.Sydnor was accused by authorities of breaking into the Ivy City Hotel room of Christy Bautista, 31, stabbing and murdering her. According to the news release, Bautista was murdered while attending a concert in Washington, D.C.
As stated in the release, the indictment requested an increase in the number of charges to five and claimed that the offenses were “particularly heinous, abhorrent, or cruel.”
