Two More Shooting Incidents Reported In New Orleans On Christmas Night

Mocobizscene- The wave of violence during the extended Christmas weekend continued unabated in New Orleans even on Christmas night. One of the victims was a child.

The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is currently looking into a shooting incident that took place on Virgilian Street in the 6600 block. According to Kaitlin Rust Landry from the NOPD Public Affairs Division, preliminary findings indicate that a minor sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a nearby hospital by private means.

According to her, it was just before 8:00pm. No additional details were disclosed. An hour passed by, and the sound of gunfire broke the silence once more.

In an email, Landry stated that the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) is currently investigating a shooting that occurred in the 4400 block of Duplessis Street. At 9:11 p.m., a call was received. Unfortunately, there is no further information available at this time.

In the past 24 hours, the city has experienced at least six shootings, culminating in a woman being murdered at Canal Street and Exchange Place on Christmas Eve night.
