Two children dead and two hospitalized, father suspected

Authorities in Lancaster are investigating the tragic deaths of two children, and hospitalizations of two others, while also detaining a person of interest who has been identified as the biological father of the children. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is leading the investigation into this heartbreaking incident.

As per a press release by LASD, they received a distress call reporting harm to children at the 1800 block of East Avenue J-2, just before midnight on Saturday. Deputies were immediately dispatched to the location.

Upon reaching the location, the deputies interacted with an adult female and proceeded to conduct a thorough search of the premises. It was during this search that the authorities discovered four children, all under the age of ten, with lacerations on their bodies. As per the LASD release, the incident was reported in these words.

Upon arrival at a nearby medical facility, medical professionals declared two of the children deceased, according to officials.

According to reports, the two remaining children are currently in stable condition and are expected to recover from their injuries, which are not considered life-threatening.

LASD has identified the person of interest detained as Prospero Serna, who happens to be the biological father of all the victims.

The investigation is still in progress.
