Over the weekend, a man from Absecon who had been released from jail after pleading guilty to stalking and cyber harassment was discovered deceased in an Atlantic City casino hotel.
Last Wednesday, 49-year-old John LeVance admitted to stalking as a repeat offender, cyber harassment, contempt of court, and invasion of privacy.
In a matter of days after his release, he was discovered deceased in a room at the Hard Rock Casino & Hotel located in Atlantic City.
According to Lt. Kevin Fair, the police have confirmed the passing, but they are not disclosing any further details as there is no suspicion of foul play. BreakingAC was informed of this development.
After being sentenced to probation for stalking the same woman in June 2022, LeVance began stalking the victim again just one day later.
According to the victim, he had been bombarded with numerous unwarranted and vulgar phone calls, text messages, emails, and social media messages that persisted until the perpetrator was apprehended. LeVance, who had been in custody since December 24th, was responsible for these harassing actions.
His potential punishment included up to a decade behind bars, and the judge had set the sentencing date for November 1st.
There has been no comment from either the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office or the Office of the Public Defender regarding the incident of the death.
