Two Brothers Killed In Northeast DC Shooting Leave Family Devastated

Washington, DC: After two brothers were shot and died in one incident earlier this week, a local family is in grief. Tuesday’s shooting took place in Northeast D.C., a short distance from the two brothers’ long-term place of employment.

The family identified the victims as Osmine Quintano Villanueva, 35, of Washington, D.C., and Octavio Quintano Villanueva, 28, of Maryland. Almost everyone FOX 5 spoke with called the brothers “lovely,” including the neighbours who patronize the Peruvian chicken shop where the boys worked.

According to a close family acquaintance, the elder brother, Osmine, lived directly above The Pollo Company restaurant at 2314 4th St. NE. According to the family, the brothers were reportedly sticking around the restaurant after it closed at 8 p.m., with the younger brother, Octavio, choosing to return to his home in Montgomery County a few hours later. At one time, his SUV was parked in front of the liquor store next to the chicken restaurant.

The two brothers appear to have been shot and killed close to where the SUV was parked, according to scene images and video. The Pollo Company’s owner is attempting to assist the family in their fundraising efforts.

“They have been an enormous assistance. Zergabachew Nuramo stated, “They’re hardworking, honest, smiling, down-to-earth men, and we’re upset about them.

The police are asking anyone with knowledge to get in touch.

According to Steve Paniagua, a close family friend, “Everyone’s sad and grieving.” “Everyone continues to be in shock. Everyone is in shock and sadness, finding it hard to believe what has happened. It isn’t very comforting even more now. You only need to keep an eye out for yourself while you travel. You must remain vigilant.”

Paniagua shared a GoFundMe page set up for the brothers, whose family is currently trying to arrange for the return of their remains to the victims’ parents’ home country of Honduras.

According to Paniagua, Octavio and his cousin were on their way home when a woman started pounding on the glass of his SUV. This is how the family understands it. He claims that after a while, three men went to the SUV and extracted a cousin from the truck. According to reports to FOX 5, once Octavio left to assist the cousin, the relative hurried to notify the older brother. It looks like someone shot at the two boys.

D.C. police could not verify the account. Although everything is still being looked into, they told FOX 5 that there had been some altercation before the shooting. As of yet, no one has been arrested.

According to Paniagua, Octavio leaves behind a wife and two small children.

“He was a wonderful man who cherished his wife and children. His daughter’s birthday was just passed away. She turned two today,” he remarked. He’s a kind, modest man who doesn’t seek out conflict.  Although I didn’t know him well, I heard that his brother was also quite composed and had only come to support his brother.”

Although the booze store had cameras, the proprietors told FOX 5 that the police took the footage. Thus, it is not available for viewing. There is also a city CCTV camera at the intersection of Bryant St. NE and 4th St. NE.
