2 individuals apprehended, 1 suspect still at large following shooting incident at gas station in Barrow County

Last month, a drive-by shooting occurred in Winder, and now three suspects are facing charges in connection with the incident.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on April 24, officers from the Winder Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting gunshots at the Shell gas station located on Midland Avenue.

During their investigation, law enforcement officers discovered several shell casings that had been discharged at the location, as well as a potential bullet that struck the nearby gas pumps.

During the investigation, detectives successfully identified the suspect’s vehicle and also established connections between three individuals and the car.

The Winder police have filed charges of aggravated assault against Avonte Rogers, a 20-year-old resident of Statham, Tatianna Wilbon, a 22-year-old resident of Athens, and Brayson Hayes, a 23-year-old resident of Statham.

Rogers and Hayes faced charges of reckless conduct, while Rogers and Wilbon were taken into custody. Hayes, however, remains at large.

The investigation into the shooting is currently underway, and officials in Winder have not yet disclosed the details surrounding the events that preceded the incident.
