Mocobizscene- The Pasadena Police have apprehended three individuals for their involvement in the tampering of city-owned property. According to authorities, the suspects were also accused of stealing copper wire from underground electrical boxes.
On December 11, the Pasadena Police Department received a report about two men and a female accomplice who were seen tampering with a city-owned underground electrical box in the 1800 block of East Corson Street. In response to the report, officers promptly arrived at the scene.
According to a statement from the Pasadena police, the two male suspects admitted their intention to steal the copper wire after they were found with the box cover removed and cut wire inside. Further evidence related to the crime, including additional copper wire and tools, was discovered during a search of their vehicle.
The three suspects involved in the case were identified by detectives. They are Candido Benitez Jr., a 27-year-old resident of Los Angeles, Lizbet Echeverria, a 31-year-old resident of North Hollywood, and Javier Soto, a 43-year-old individual believed to be a transient.
The Pasadena City Prosecutor’s office is currently reviewing the case to determine whether misdemeanor charges should be filed, according to the police.
