Teen Arrested For Pushing Elderly Man Onto Subway Tracks

Mocobizscene-A man faced charges on Wednesday after allegedly pushing an 85-year-old man onto the subway tracks in Midtown, according to prosecutors.

According to court documents, on November 15th, Brittan Jones, 30, was involved in an argument with the victim who had been sleeping on the bench on the Rockefeller Center southbound platform.

The FDNY, MTA, and NYPD swiftly responded to a 911 call and successfully rescued the victim from the subway track.

After sustaining various injuries, including a fractured hip, he was transported to Mount Sinai West for medical treatment.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr. expressed his firm belief that the residents of New York City deserve a safe public transportation system. He emphasized the importance of holding accountable those individuals who put others at risk in subway stations. Mr. Bragg also extended his wishes for a quick recovery to the victim and expressed his gratitude towards the NYPD, MTA, and FDNY for their swift response and assistance.

Jones faces charges of attempted assault and second-degree assault.
