Suspect in armed robbery on Facebook Marketplace arrested after evading capture for a month

ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. — In Albany County, significant changes are underway.

The Bethlehem Police Department reported that they have arrested a 25-year-old individual from New York City in relation to an armed robbery that took place during a Facebook Marketplace exchange in Slingerlands.

According to the police, a woman attempted to sell jewelry to two individuals in the parking lot of Plug Power on Vista Boulevard at approximately 11:30 p.m. on December 27, 2023. Ronaldo Alcazar, a resident of Queens, was apprehended in New York City on January 30. Subsequently, the Bethlehem Police Department Detectives transported him to Albany after his arrest.

25-year-old Ronaldo Alcazar, from Queens, has been captured by the Bethlehem Police Department, as shown in the mugshot. Alcazar is charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, grand larceny, unlawful imprisonment, conspiracy, and menacing. The suspect was taken into custody and transferred to Albany County Correctional Facility. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for February 2 at 10:00 a.m. in the Town of Bethlehem Court.
