Mocobizscene- A man who was wanted in Colorado has been apprehended in Kansas after a police chase on Monday.
The Trego County Sheriff’s Office reported that a suspect wanted for charges in Colorado was the subject of an “attempt to locate” announcement aired over the police radio at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29. At 5:19 p.m., the authorities located the suspect’s vehicle west of WaKeeney, almost two hours later.
The suspect wasted no time in fleeing their vehicle as soon as the Kansas Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop. According to the TCSO, the vehicle crossed the median and entered the lane of oncoming traffic, posing a danger to other drivers.
The KHP swiftly took action by executing a tactical vehicle intervention, causing the suspect’s vehicle to collide with a solid concrete wall. The suspect kept running away, going in the westbound direction, but then crossed the median and continued heading eastbound towards WaKeeney.
The WaKeeney Police Department effectively deployed stop sticks, which successfully struck the vehicle’s tires, thus effectively slowing down the pursuit. After driving for another two miles, the suspect’s vehicle came to a halt as a result of the stop sticks.
The authorities apprehended the suspect smoothly and without any additional complications. The suspect has been identified as a 30-year-old male. It is KSN’s policy not to disclose the names of suspects unless charges have been filed in their particular case.
