Three individuals sustained gunshot wounds in the vicinity of the Rhode Island Avenue Metro Station in Northeast on Monday evening. Fortunately, all three victims are expected to recover from their injuries.
Three individuals were shot on Monday as they were crossing a bike trail bridge near a Metro station in northeast Washington, according to authorities.
The triple shooting occurred around 6:15 p.m. on Monday near the Rhode Island Ave-Brentwood Metro station. The incident took place on the mountain bike trail bridge in the 680 block of Rhode Island Avenue. As the trio strolled across the bridge, the sound of gunshots pierced through the air, catching their attention.
All three individuals sustained gunshot wounds and were promptly taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Despite their injuries, the victims remained conscious and were able to breathe on their own during the transportation process.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the shooting incident.
