Mocobizscene- For the next decade, a 26-year-old woman will be incarcerated for the homicide of her own mother.
Prosecutors in Union County allege that in 2020, Malika Jones, a resident of Rahway, committed the heinous act of stabbing her mother. Jones must complete a minimum of 85 percent of her sentence in order to qualify for parole.
Prosecutors say police discovered the 58-year-old victim, Inell Jones, who was pronounced deceased at the scene in the 100 block of East Albert Street, on February 16, 2020. Jones was apprehended without delay.
“Although this sentence does not reinstate Mrs. Inell Jones, it is hoped that it will provide solace to all those bereaved,” stated William Daniel, the prosecutor for Union County.
