Prosecutors Sentence Newark Man to Eight Years for Killing 31-Year-Old Hillside Man

Mocobizscene- At 10 p.m. on July 22, 2021, the Hillside police were called to the 1400 block of North Broad Street. They discovered Steven Zimmerman with a fatal gunshot wound, as confirmed by Union County Prosecutor William Daniel and Hillside Police Department Officer in Charge.

According to Lashonda Burgess-Mason, Zimmerman was declared dead at the scene by the authorities.

Darrius Easterling was apprehended at Newark Liberty International Airport. He was found guilty of second-degree manslaughter, although he had initially faced charges of first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and second-degree possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, according to authorities.
