Arrest Made in Miami Apartment Building Shootout That Resulted in Fatality

Mocobizscene-  Officials have announced that a woman has been arrested on a murder charge in connection with a deadly shootout at a Miami apartment building. The incident, which occurred last week, resulted in the death of a man.

Yanais Almeida, 35, was arrested and taken into custody on Monday for the charge of first-degree murder/robbery, according to records. The shootout occurred at approximately 6 a.m. on January 25th at a building located in the 4200 block of Northwest South Tamiami Drive.

The individuals were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where they received medical treatment and were subsequently discharged.

Surveillance footage was reviewed by detectives, revealing Iglesias entering the parking lot alongside Almeida. In the footage, Iglesias is seen brandishing a firearm and opening fire at the other suspect, who was subsequently hospitalized.

In the video, it was captured that an additional suspect emerged from a hidden spot and began pursuing and firing shots at Iglesias. As a result, Iglesias was struck by the gunfire and fell to the ground.

According to the report, additional surveillance footage captured the moment when Almeida and one of the other suspects were dropped off near the hospital. The footage also showed Almeida and the injured suspect making their way into the emergency room.

According to the report, on Saturday, Almeida and one of the other suspects were apprehended in a vehicle at a gas station. On Tuesday, Almeida made an appearance in court, where a public defender was assigned to her case. She was ordered to be held without bond.

During the court appearance, the prosecutor stated that Almeida had brought the victim to the designated location where the other two suspects had planned to rob him of his marijuana. The police have not identified the other suspects involved in the incident, and it is unclear whether they will face charges.
