The Metropolitan Police Department is conducting an investigation into the demise of a man in Northwest D.C.
Monday at 7:37 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Fairlawn Avenue, Southeast in response to a complaint of human remains having been discovered. At the crime scene, officers located the remains of a man inside a garbage can.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds and deemed the manner of death a homicide.
According to police, the victim’s identity is currently unclear. No suspects or persons of interest have been named so far.
The Metropolitan Police Department is presently offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for each homicide in the District of Columbia.
