Alabama man arrested after police discover close to 200 fentanyl pills concealed in Easter eggs

During a routine traffic stop, law enforcement officials in Alabama made a significant discovery when they found approximately 200 fentanyl pills concealed inside Easter eggs. As a result, a man was apprehended and taken into custody.

Jamarious Dequan Qualls, 29, was arrested by the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office following a traffic stop in Tuscumbia. The arrest took place around noon on Monday, in a location approximately 115 miles north of Birmingham.

According to the sheriff’s office, Qualls, who had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest in another city, willingly allowed drug agents to search his car.

During the arrest, law enforcement agents discovered two plastic containers containing 176 fentanyl pills and a plastic bag containing 1oz of synthetic cannabis known as “spice.”

Fentanyl pills were concealed in Easter eggs

The seized drugs were captured in a photo that revealed their striking resemblance to Easter eggs.

Qualls faces charges of drug trafficking and unlawful possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. He is currently being held in Colbert County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
