Mocobizscene- A woman has been detained in jail after she stabbed a dentist and assaulted two other individuals on Wednesday at a dental office located on Magazine Street, according to the New Orleans police.
Stewart expressed surprise when magistrate commissioner Jay Daniels informed her about the charges against her. She was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of attempted second-degree murder in relation to the attack on her dentist that occurred on Wednesday.
On Thursday morning, there was an armed guard stationed at the dental center. The incident was not commented on by a manager at the center.
The New Orleans police thoroughly searched the vicinity, apprehended Stewart, and officially processed her at the Orleans Justice Center on Wednesday evening. She now faces charges of two counts of aggravated assault and one count of attempted second-degree murder.
Court records show that Stewart is also facing charges of aggravated arson and aggravated battery about two separate incidents that occurred in January.
The victim asked Stewart to seek counselling. If Stewart is granted bond at her Gwen’s Law hearing, each of her victims will be issued a non-domestic stay-away order. This report was contributed to by Gabriella Killett and John Simerman.
