Mocobizscene- The Los Angeles Police Department announced on Wednesday that they have arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting death of a man last summer. The incident took place after an event at the Wilmington Recreation Center.
Jose Quezada, a 46-year-old resident of Carson, tragically lost his life on the evening of July 27, 2023. The incident occurred after a “Summer Night Lights” event at the recreation center located in the 300 block of North Neptune Avenue. Jose was a dedicated volunteer at the center, where the unfortunate incident took place, according to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
The LAPD Harbor Area Community Police Station in San Pedro is set to hold a news conference on Thursday morning to unveil the details of the arrests. According to the police, Quezada was fatally shot while leaving the event at the recreation center. The suspects, described as males dressed in dark clothing, have not been identified.
At the time, authorities stated that they were uncertain about the motive behind the shooting. The Summer Night Lights events transform over 40 parks and recreation centers in the Los Angeles area into safe havens for families, promoting anti-gang violence.
