Newark Police Request Help in Locating Getaway Vehicle from Armed Robbery

MocobizsceneThe Newark Department of Public Safety is seeking the public’s help locating a vehicle connected to an armed robbery incident. Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has requested information about a white 2017 Toyota Highlander with New Jersey registration number C18KSF.

On Sunday, December 10, 2023, at approximately 6:51 a.m., a male pedestrian was confronted by an armed individual while walking in the 100 block of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. The suspect, about 5’10” tall and weighed around 170 pounds, had a light complexion and was dressed in all black with a face mask. The assailant pointed a handgun at the victim and proceeded to steal his personal belongings.

After the robbery, the suspect escaped from the scene in a stolen Toyota Highlander. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Irvington on December 9, 2023. Detectives are working tirelessly on the case and urgently trying to locate the vehicle to identify and apprehend the suspect.
