Newark, Nj Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run Bike Crash

ESTONIA – A car that fled the scene early on Friday morning struck and killed a woman riding an electric bike.

At 4:15 a.m., Melody Regus, 42, of Newark, was riding at the four-way intersection of Main Street and Grove Street in East Orange. At about five in the morning, after being brought to the University Hospital, she was declared dead.

There have been no apprehensions made regarding the collision. Theodore N. Stephens II, the acting prosecutor for Essex County, withheld information regarding the nature of the car and the accident’s circumstances.
