Mid-City Homicide on Christmas under Investigation by NOPD

Mocobizscene- The streets of New Orleans were marred by violence throughout the Christmas weekend, with a particularly turbulent night. In the past three days, the city has experienced its second homicide, making it the latest incident of shooting.

A man was fatally shot in Mid-City, as reported by a spokesperson from the New Orleans Police Department. The incident took place at approximately 10 p.m. on Monday in the vicinity of Canal Street and South Carrollton Avenue.

The victim was rushed to the hospital by an EMS crew, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The police are actively investigating the case to identify the suspect and determine the motive behind the shooting.

On Christmas Day in New Orleans, three separate shootings occurred. One of the incidents involved a child being wounded in a shooting in New Orleans East at around 8 p.m. Another shooting took place in Gentilly, where a man sustained injuries at approximately 9 p.m.

There is no apparent connection between any of these shootings. Throughout the weekend, the NOPD responded to a total of 10 shooting incidents, with two resulting in fatalities.
