Mocobizscene– Authorities have announced the arrest of three individuals from Los Angeles who are believed to be part of an organized retail theft ring. These suspects specifically targeted various home improvement stores across Southern California.
The task force leader responsible for addressing the pervasive issue of retail theft revealed that the theft ring specifically focused on Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Harbor Freight stores.
In a thorough investigation lasting for a month, law enforcement officials carried out a search warrant on Monday at a hardware and plumbing supply business in L.A. The search yielded a significant discovery of stolen items, including five firearms, a substantial sum of $30,000 in cash, and an astonishing half a million dollars’ worth of stolen merchandise.
According to CHP, “boosters” stole the products from the stores. These boosters would enter the stores and find ways to steal the merchandise.
Three individuals, namely Jose Rivera (54 years old), Fernando Hernandez (43 years old), and Rogelio Salgado (45 years old), have been charged with multiple offences. These charges include organized retail theft, receiving stolen property, and weapons-related offences.
The recovered items included water heaters, furnaces, extension ladders, 5-gallon buckets of paint, and various tools and plumbing fixtures like kitchen faucets.
