Mocobizscene-Two employees sustained injuries during a chemical spill at Disneyland on Thursday, shortly after the park had closed for the day. According to a report by the Orange County Register, Anaheim Fire and Rescue’s Hazardous Material team was called to the park at around 2 a.m. in response to a chemical spill.
Two employees experienced breathing difficulties after being exposed to a vapor cloud of chlorine and another cleaning agent. One of them was immediately transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange for further treatment, while the other received on-site medical attention.
The employee who was hospitalized received treatment and was later discharged. Fortunately, there were no visitors present in the park during the incident.
According to Jaime Clower of Disneyland Resort Public Affairs, there was a minor incident backstage where a few cleaning products accidentally mixed together. As a precautionary measure, response teams immediately inspected the area to ensure the safety of the cast members.
According to the Register, the incident is currently being investigated by the Anaheim Fire HazMat team.
