A death investigation is underway at the Independence, Missouri, Police Department, following the discovery of a corpse in a wooded area by a hunter on Thanksgiving morning.
Police reported discovering the body on Salisbury Road, east of MO-291.
The medical examiner has been entrusted with the individual’s remains in order to ascertain their identity and ascertain the cause of their demise. There were no additional details disclosed.
