According to California Highway Patrol Officer Sean Louth, a tragic incident occurred on a freeway in Whittier, resulting in the death of a woman who experienced a medical emergency while driving.
The emergency started on Friday night around 11:40 p.m. on the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway at Whittier Boulevard, according to the CHP.
All lanes on the 605 Freeway just north of Rose Hills Road were closed around 12:35 a.m. due to the emergency, as reported by the CHP. According to Louth, no other individuals were injured in the incident.
The authorities have not yet released the name and age of the victim in order to inform her family first.
