LOMPOC, Calif. – Two individuals from Los Angeles were apprehended on Thursday morning in connection with a burglary at Discount Cigarettes in Lompoc.
The Lompoc Police Department received a call from the owner of Discount Cigarettes at 1:21 a.m. on Thursday. The owner reported observing three individuals on live surveillance attempting to enter his store through the front door.
When the responding officers arrived, they found all three individuals busy stuffing items into bags. However, as soon as they arrived, a vehicle that was parked near the front door quickly drove away, leaving behind two people inside the store. The Lompoc Police Department reported this incident.
The Lompoc Police Department explained that the pursuit of the vehicle was called off in order to protect public safety. However, they recovered a trail of stolen merchandise and burglary tools from the vehicle as it fled the area.
The Lompoc Police Department stated that the two individuals who were left behind attempted to escape in different directions. However, they were apprehended shortly after with burglary tools in their possession.
The Lompoc Police Department reported that they were able to recover over $20,000 worth of merchandise, but there is still an outstanding amount of $10,000 to $15,000.
Two individuals from Los Angeles, aged 22 and 21, were taken into custody and are currently being held at the Lompoc Police Department Jail. They have been charged with the following offences:

- PC 182(a)(1)-Conspiracy
- CVC 2800.2(a)-Felony Vehicle Evading
