Montgomery firefighter assisting at accident scene struck by vehicle

Authorities reported that a Montgomery firefighter was struck by a vehicle while assisting with another accident on Sunday evening.

According to a news release, Lt. J.W. McMicken and another woman were injured in an incident that took place in the area of East Edgemont Avenue and Wilmington Road. Both of them were taken to the hospital, with Lt. J.W. McMicken sustaining serious injuries while the woman’s injuries were not life-threatening. First responders were quick to provide assistance and transport the injured to the hospital for prompt medical attention.

At approximately 6:50 p.m., the accident was attended by fire medics and Montgomery police officers. At the moment, the Montgomery Fire Department has decided to withhold any further details.

Montgomery police have announced an arrest in the recent stabbing that occurred in downtown. The suspect is currently in custody and will face charges for the attack. Further details about the incident and the suspect have not been released at this time. The police are continuing their investigation and ask anyone with information to come forward.
