A 62-year-old man has passed away, leading to a Homicide Investigation by the Montgomery Police.
At approximately 5:21 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, the MPD and Fire Medics were dispatched to the 200 block of West Patton Avenue following reports of a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Upon discovery, Andrew Smith, who was 62 years of age, was found to have sustained a deadly gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the location where he was discovered.
Anthony Jones, aged 58, has been charged with murder by the MPD. He was identified as a suspect soon after the crime and was apprehended at the scene. Currently, he is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
