BIRMINGHAM — On Sunday, August 13, 2023, a Birmingham man was discovered in a ditch after being shot and died.
Tommie Lee Brown, 26, of Birmingham, was confirmed as the victim by the Jefferson County Coroner’s office.
A bystander at 50 Street Southwest and Park Avenue Southwest noticed Brown lying on the side of the road around 6:37 a.m. and called the police. When Birmingham police officers arrived on the scene, they discovered the victim motionless in a ditch on the side of the road.
At 6:45 a.m., Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived on the scene and pronounced Brown dead.
Brown was later evaluated by the Jefferson County Coroner’s office, which confirmed he had been shot.
There is no one detained.
