Jefferson County Coroner’s Office is looking for the families of two people who died recently

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. – The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the families of two people who died lately.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of missing family members can call the coroner’s office at 205-930-3603.

Dennis Hancock, 52, was a pedestrian crossing in the 100 block of West Oxmoor Road when he was hit by a car at roughly 1:02 a.m. on August 18. He was sent to UAB Hospital and pronounced dead there. The Homewood Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

All attempts to locate family members have failed.

Harriett McMillian

Harriett McMillian was discovered dead inside her home on August 19 at around 5:37 p.m. by police executing a welfare check at the request of a concerned neighbor in the 1700 block of 26th Street Ensley. There are no signs of trauma or foul play.

All attempts to locate family members have been failed.
