According to reports from the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), a carjacking incident that occurred on Sunday, Sept. 24, resulted in the discovery of a stolen firearm within the stolen vehicle.
In the early morning hours, around 4:30 a.m., officers were called to the scene of a carjacking near Dublin Boulevard and Rangewood Drive. Upon arrival, the CSPD officers immediately contacted the victims to gather information. As they were speaking with the victims, the stolen vehicle drove by, and the victims were able to identify it for the officers.
After a short car chase, the suspect decided to flee on foot into a neighboring community. However, officers were able to successfully capture all three suspects who were in the vehicle.
During the vehicle processing, CSPD discovered a stolen semi-automatic handgun. According to CSPD, the suspect’s vehicle was also reported stolen.
