A man is seen throwing burning newspapers at commuters inside a subway station in Manhattan in a video clip

Authorities in Manhattan are seeking help from the public in identifying a man who was captured on video igniting newspapers at a subway station. The police have released footage of the perpetrator as they work to bring him to justice.

As captured in a video from the 33rd Street subway station near Park Avenue, two small fires were seen on the platform.

The authorities were alerted to the incident at approximately 5:30 p.m. and managed to bring the fire under control shortly before 7 p.m.

Fortunately, there were no reports of any injuries.

The incident is currently under investigation by the police.
