Queens subway commuter punches stranger who fell asleep on him during the ride in NYC

Police reported that a commuter on a subway in Queens became enraged on Tuesday and aggressively elbowed a fellow passenger who had fallen asleep on his shoulder. This altercation resulted in a physical fight, which was captured on video.

According to authorities, the altercation occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on the northbound F train nearing the Forest Hills 71st Avenue stop.

As the altercation unfolded, the assailant berated the 27-year-old in a mix of Spanish and English, accusing him of using him as a pillow. Despite the verbal onslaught, both the victim and his companion refused to back down, engaging in a heated argument with their aggressor.

The assailant yelled out, “I understand your damn language, and I’m well aware of who you are!” using foul language to make their point.

The person shouted expletives, telling the other to go to sleep somewhere else and demanding that they stop making noise. The language used was aggressive and disrespectful.

In the video footage, the aggressor is wearing a T-shirt with the American flag in grey colour, complemented by sunglasses and a baseball cap. He can be seen forcefully pushing his hand towards his target’s face while yelling and becoming increasingly furious.

As soon as the victim leaned in to whisper a response, he lost his composure and became visibly agitated.

As soon as the situation escalated, he reacted with a swift blow of his elbow to the man’s face not once, but thrice, resulting in the man losing consciousness for a few moments.

As soon as the attack happened, the victim’s companion, dressed in a vibrant Hawaiian shirt, wasted no time in jumping over to defend his friend.

As the altercation broke out, commuters on the train quickly dispersed in order to avoid the conflict. Meanwhile, the victim was left in a state of shock, trying to regain their bearings after the physical altercation. The two individuals involved in the altercation continued to exchange blows, causing chaos and commotion in the train car. Despite the chaos, no one intervened to break up the fight.

As per the authorities, the altercation was short-lived. The person who was attacked along with their friend, disembarked the train upon arriving at the subway station, while the aggressor continued his journey to an unknown location.

According to the authorities, the pair headed towards the 112th precinct, which was only half a mile away from the station, to report the assault.

The individual who was harmed declined to receive any medical aid, and their companion did not mention any physical injuries.

As of now, the perpetrator is yet to be apprehended despite an assault complaint being filed against him.
