FRANKLIN COUNTY, AL (MBS) – Authorities said a Franklin County Schools employee was arrested after he ‘confessed to sending an inappropriate video to a 17-year-old.’
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) reported on August 9 that an inappropriate video was sent to a 17-year-old. Following an inquiry in which officials got the video in question, the sheriff’s office stated that they determined the video was made by Timothy Mark Wells and that they made contact with him.
While being interviewed by police officers, Wells admitted to sending the video to someone under the age of 18.
According to the sheriff’s office, warrants were secured for Wells based on all of the facts acquired during the investigation. Wells surrendered to the Franklin County Detention Center at 11 a.m. Friday, according to FCSO.
Wells is charged with being a school employee distributing or soliciting obscene material to or from a student and distributing harmful materials to a minor.
Wells works as a special education teacher at Phil Campbell High School, according to Franklin County School Superintendent Greg Hamilton. He stated that Wells is currently on administrative leave.
Authorities added that Wells will be issued a bond by a Franklin County judge.
