In Alabama, there has been a recent report of two stolen vehicles: a silver Hyundai Sonata and a black Kia Soul. The incident took place on September 5, 2023, in the parking deck of Children’s Hospital. The authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying the individuals involved in the crime. To incentivize the public, there is a cash reward of up to $5,000 for anyone with information that can help solve the case.
Upon arriving at the location, detectives analyzed the surveillance footage which captured the moment when two unknown culprits broke into the parked vehicles by breaking the passenger windows. The video footage revealed that one of the suspects was wearing a yellow Puma outfit, along with jeans and a crossbody bag. Meanwhile, the other individual was clothed in all black attire.
Eventually, both cars involved in the incident were located and retrieved. The silver Hyundai Sonata was discovered deserted on Alabama’s Interstate I-20, exhibiting noticeable signs of harm, such as shattered rear and rear passenger side windows. Moreover, the vehicle had indications of a bullet piercing the left passenger side rear door, and investigators found a spent bullet casing on the rear floorboard.
According to recent data from the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), there were over one million cases of vehicle thefts in the US in 2022.
