A Montgomery resident dies in a shooting incident on Saturday night

The Montgomery police are currently conducting an investigation into a homicide that occurred on Saturday evening.

According to an email from Maj. Saba Coleman, 54-year-old Tommy Perkins passed away on Saturday due to a gunshot wound. The incident took place in the 700 block of Golden Gate Drive, and officers and fire medics were quick to respond to the scene at around 7:45 p.m. Perkins was a resident of Montgomery.

No additional information was immediately released by the police.
