BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Sunday’s shooting death in Birmingham’s southwest area is being investigated by police.
Officers from the west precinct responded to a call of a person down at 50th Street and Park Avenue Southwest just after 6:30 a.m.
When they arrived, they discovered an unresponsive male victim in a roadside ditch.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Services.
The victim had been shot, according to the coroner’s investigation.
Someone who saw the victim lying on the side of the road dialled 911, according to police.
There is no one detained.
