Young girl killed by Jeep at Southeast DC gas station, authorities say

Washington– Tuesday afternoon, a young girl was fatally struck by an SUV at a service station in Southeast D.C., according to the local police.

The girl was discovered unconscious and not breathing in the parking lot of the BP gas station in the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue near Minnesota Avenue, Southeast, according to officers.She was transported to the hospital in critical, life-threatening condition, but subsequently died of her injuries, according to the District of Columbia Police.

The struck motorist remained at the location. The Metropolitan Police Department has dispatched its Major Crash Unit. An investigation is presently ongoing.
