Mocobizscene- According to the police, a woman who was hit by a car while crossing the street in East Rutherford earlier this week is currently in a local hospital on life support.
Belina Ang, a 56-year-old resident of Mahwah, was hit by a 2008 Toyota Tacoma on Tuesday at around 8:40 p.m. while crossing Hackensack St. The driver of the vehicle made a left-hand turn from Union Ave. and struck her, as reported by authorities.
According to East Rutherford police officer Jeff Yannacone, Ang is currently alive but is being kept on life support. The driver of the Tacoma, a 33-year-old male from Carlstadt, stayed at the scene. The investigation is currently underway, and authorities have not yet filed any charges.
Ang, a former financial engineer for The Fed, had the joy of witnessing her son graduate from Mahwah High School in 2023. According to the Daily Voice, he is now pursuing his education at the prestigious U.S. Naval Academy. The family has set up a GoFundMe page to seek assistance.
