Woman fatally struck by a vehicle in Central City

NEW ORLEANS: On Mardi Gras Day, a woman was killed in a hit-and-run in Central City. The incident occurred on the 3400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at approximately 10:04 p.m., according to the New Orleans Police Department.

According to the officers, the woman was struck by an unidentified man driving an unknown car. EMS transported her to a nearby hospital, where she subsequently passed away from her wounds.The NOPD claims that the driver did not come to a stop. To identify a potential culprit and motivation, police are gathering information and evidence. Homicide is the classification given to the crime.
