Virginia Woman Attacked Outside Her Home After Returning From MGM National Harbor

Mocobizscene- A woman from Virginia claimed that she was followed to her residence after leaving the MGM National Harbor Casino and was assaulted outside her home. According to the police, they have apprehended a suspect in connection with the incident. Lili Zheng from FOX 5 brings us the details of the incident.

A man has been arrested for assaulting a woman in Bailey’s Crossroads, Virginia. According to authorities, he had followed her home from the MGM National Harbor. According to police, a man named Antiero Ebai Menyoli, 29, approached the victim as she was leaving the hotel casino in Oxon Hill shortly after midnight on December 8.

According to officers, Menyoli approached the woman and briefly conversed with her in the parking lot. After their interaction, the woman proceeded to enter her vehicle and began her journey home on Poplar Lane, which is located near Bailey’s Crossroads. Antiero Ebai Menyoli is an esteemed member of the Fairfax County Police Department.

The woman informed investigators that she suspected the man was tailing her from the parking lot, and she attempted to shake off the vehicle as she drove. Additionally, she mentioned to the police that she became aware of the vehicle trailing her because one of its headlights appeared brighter than the other.

“Sgt. Jacob Pearce from the Fairfax County Police Department informed FOX 5 that while the victim is physically unharmed, she will likely require some time to recover from the traumatic incident. To support her during this process, victim service specialists have been assigned to assist her not only with her recovery, but also with navigating the court system,” Sgt. Pearce explained.

He also emphasized the importance of being cautious when leaving any location, including not just the MGM, but also banks, jewelry stores, and other places where individuals may carry a large amount of currency or valuable items. Sgt. Pearce urged people to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings in such situations.”

Detectives were able to identify Menyoli by reviewing surveillance footage. It was revealed that he had no prior connection to the victim. On December 12, he was apprehended in Prince George’s County and will face charges of burglary, assault, and destruction of property. Menyoli will be extradited to Fairfax County to face these charges.

In an interview with FOX 5, Tyler Jeffries, a frequent visitor to MGM in Washington, D.C., shared his perspective on safety. He expressed that he has always felt secure when leaving the premises.

According to Jeffries, MGM has always provided a great experience, comparable to a top-notch casino in Vegas. He also mentioned that the security team at MGM is dedicated and doing their utmost to ensure safety.

Fairfax County police reported a similar incident in October. In October, a man experienced a distressing incident where he arrived home from MGM only to be confronted by an armed robber. Fairfax County police confirmed on Thursday that there is no direct connection between the latest case and the incident that occurred in October.

The authorities are currently investigating leads regarding the incident that took place in October.

When asked about safety measures or protocols in place, an MGM spokesperson did not provide a direct response. However, they did refer FOX 5 to the police for further information.
