In New Orleans East, two distinct incidents of gun violence occurred resulting in the death of one man and hospitalization of another.
Around 7 p.m., the initial shooting incident occurred near the intersection of Curran Boulevard and Sail Street. According to the police, the victim sustained a graze wound and sought medical attention at a nearby hospital. Upon receiving the information from the hospital staff, the police were contacted.
Around 11:15 p.m., the Willows Apartments on Lawrence Road witnessed another shooting incident. Unfortunately, the victim was shot in the neck and succumbed to the injuries later at the hospital. Police are investigating the matter.
