Truck Hits Tree In Central Alabama, Killing One Teen And Injuring Four

Tragedy struck in central Alabama yesterday afternoon as a single-vehicle wreck claimed the life of a 14-year-old passenger and left four other teenagers injured, according to local authorities.

A tragic incident occurred on Thursday near Wetumpka, Alabama, when a 14-year-old resident of Deatsville lost their life in a car accident. The victim was a passenger in a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that veered off Lightwood Road near Hickory Road at approximately 3:20 p.m. The truck collided with a tree, resulting in the fatal outcome. Sgt. Jeremy Burkett from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency provided this information.

The teenager was declared deceased at the location.

According to Burkett, the 16-year-old driver from Deatsville, along with three other teenage passengers (a 14-year-old, a 15-year-old, and a 17-year-old), was injured in the Silverado.

Four teenagers, including the driver, were transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
