Texas Installs Anti-Climb Fence at Busy Border to Stop Illegal Immigration

MocobizsceneNear Brownsville, a high-traffic area for unauthorized immigration along the Texas-Mexico border, the Texas state military has erected an 8-foot anti-climb fence. The action is designed to impede the effortless passage of sizable groups across the border.

It is unfeasible for an individual on the southern side to scale the barrier by leaning a ladder against the anti-climb fence. Last week, the Texas National Guard Engineer Special Response Teams initiated the fence installation process.

The state has declined to comment on inquiries regarding the extent of the anti-climb fence and has not disclosed its dimensions. The fence installment is a component of Operation Lone Star, which was initiated by Governor Greg Abbott in 2021. Under this initiative, more than 10,000 National Guard soldiers and state police have been mobilized to aid the Border Patrol in their pursuit of illegal immigrants.

Texas is presently pursuing legal action in an effort to halt Border Patrol agents from cutting concertina wire that the state has installed close to the border. Additionally, the state defends its deployment of a series of red buoys spanning 1,000 feet in the river.
